Cross triathlon
Our full off-road challenge, for those ready to put their endurance and mountain-bike skills to the test.
Minimum age: 17 on 31 December 2027
Planned base entry fee
£50 early bird / £60 standard
Shorter course
A great first off-road triathlon to train towards. The bike course is shorter and less technical than the full Beastie, with some uneven and muddy sections. Open-water swimming and off-road bike practice are still essential.

Aquathlon
Love swimming and running? Enjoy the loch and trails without the cycling — and earn the same castle finish.
Minimum age: 17 on 31 December 2027

Bike and run distances are approximate. A Beastie medal is included in every entry, at no additional charge. Planned base fees are shown above; final checkout costs and the early-bird period will be on EntryCentral.
Race age is calculated on 31 December 2027. Entrants under 18 should contact us about parental consent.
Taking part
Under British Triathlon’s category policy, Female is for athletes whose sex is female at birth. Open is available to everyone, including transgender athletes; “Open/Male” in our timetable does not mean male-only.
The aquathlon has separate starts and one shared briefing. See the timetable.
We’ve applied to host the 2027 championships; the award is not yet confirmed. You can race without qualifying for championship awards.
We’ll update this page and EntryCentral with the outcome and award-eligibility details, even if entries have already opened.
Celebrate the finish
Overall first-three podium prizes in Open and Female categories for all three events. Organiser age-group prizes for the Beastie and Wee Beastie. If the aquathlon is not awarded championship status, it will also have organiser age-group prizes. If championship status is awarded, Scottish Championship awards will be presented separately to eligible winners, with no separate organiser aquathlon age-group prizes.
Prizegiving follows the race-day timetable, once final results have been checked.
