Getting here
Make time for the last mile.
Balloch Castle Country Park, Drymen Road, Balloch, G83 8LX
Park access and visitor mapTravel light on the park
Car share, use public transport or cycle where you can. Balloch railway station is within walking distance; allow time to reach the castle.
Castle parking is limited and fills quickly. Moss O’ Balloch in the town centre is the main alternative, with options around Carrochan Road / the National Park area. Check signs, restrictions and charges; spaces are not reserved for competitors.
Lomond Shores offers paid parking with a walk to the castle. Check its parking information and tariffs before travelling.
Registration
Collect. Check. Get ready.
Collect your race number, swim cap and timing chip on race morning, along with body marking and bike/helmet stickers for triathlon entrants. Nothing is posted in advance.
Wear the chip on your left ankle and return it at the finish. Your number must be visible from the rear on the bike and the front on the run.
Bring evidence of your race licence or Race Pass as required by the entry instructions. Read the Race Pass guidance.
Your changeover space
Keep it tidy. Keep it safe.
- Only competitors, officials and authorised staff enter transition.
- Keep kit within your space. A small soft-sided bag is allowed if it does not impede others; remove transport boxes.
- No riding in transition. Fasten your helmet before removing your bike and keep it fastened until the bike is re-racked.
- A flannel up to 30 × 30 cm belongs in your shoes; if using the same shoes throughout, roll it beneath the rack’s horizontal bar (or in a supplied box). Keep larger towels in your bag and return them after use. Never mark space with a towel.
- No headphones or headsets. Discuss essential medical devices with us before race day.
- Wait for the Transition Manager’s permission before collecting kit.
Around the venue
Bring your cheer squad.
Spectators are welcome. Keep the course and transition clear, follow marshals and give other park visitors space.
Facilities and kit
Toilets, changing tents, first aid, catering and an unsupervised bag drop are provided. There are no showers. Bring warm, dry clothing and do not leave valuables in the bag drop.
If you withdraw during the event, tell an official before leaving. We need to account for every athlete.
